A Passion for Landscaping – From My Family to Yours

Mayer Landscapes is not an overgrown, impersonal landscape company. It’s a family business, now in its second generation. My father, Derald Mayer started this company in 1978, working primarily as a residential concrete contractor. It didn’t take long for him to realize that the quality, craftsmanship and aesthetic sense he put into hardscapes could be expanded to include an entire outdoor environment.

As I tagged along on landscape projects, little did I know he wasn’t only cultivating a family landscaping business, but a passion for this same work inside of me. While I continue to expand my knowledge, adding new landscaping technology, techniques and capabilities, the best education I ever received was working one-on-one with my father. He imparted a lifetime of information on plants, landscaping materials, grading and landscape aesthetics. But, more importantly, I learned – and lived – commitment, integrity and honest hard work.  These are the things that drove my father, and they are the foundation of Mayer Landscapes and the reputation we enjoy today.

So it’s no surprise that a good amount of our business results from referrals – satisfied customers who come back time after time, home after home, who are confidant in our abilities and recommend our landscaping services to family, friends and colleagues. It’s an honor we don’t take lightly, and the reason we focus so intently on quality, craftsmanship and the kind of personalized service that sets us apart.
